    Description

    Youth Arts Workshop Assistant — The Mandala Challenge

    About the Opportunity: Join us as a volunteer workshop assistant for The Mandala Challenge, a free creative arts and mindfulness program for underserved youth ages 5-18. You'll help facilitate monthly workshops where children create mandala artwork while learning focus, calm, and emotional regulation techniques.

    Where: MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation — a 30-year institution serving 200+ youth daily in Jacksonville's Urban Core.

    What You'll Do:

    • Assist with setup and distribution of art supplies
    • Support youth during guided breathing and art creation
    • Encourage and engage with children as they work
    • Help with cleanup and organization

    Time Commitment:

    • 1-hour training session (week of May 26-28)
    • Monthly workshops: approximately 60-90 minutes per session
    • Flexible schedule — we work around your availability

    Instructions:

    We're looking for art students or creative individuals to assist with a youth mandala workshop at the MaliVai Washington Youth Foundation in Jacksonville. You'll help guide children ages 5–14 through mandala creation using supplied templates and materials — no prior teaching experience required, just a passion for art and working with kids. All supplies and a facilitator guide will be provided. Please share your art background or any experience working with youth in your message.
