Wordpress Developer (Volunteer)

Wordpress Developer (Volunteer)

Help build technology that expands access to mentorship and career opportunities. We're looking for a frontend-focused WordPress Developer who is passionate about creating meaningful social impact and wants hands-on experience improving and elevating our website.

You'll work primarily on frontend development on the Web Production Team, using WordPress, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to build polished, accessible, and engaging web experiences. You'll collaborate with a small, mission-driven team, contribute to technical decisions, and help shape the future of Wevise.org.

What we're looking for:

• Experience working with WordPress and website production (authoring and publishing)
• Strong HTML and CSS skills
• Familiarity with JavaScript
• An eye for responsive design, usability, and accessibility
• Ability to troubleshoot website issues, work independently, and deliver with a fast turnaround
• A creative, collaborative approach to solving problems

Nice to have: PHP and additional JavaScript experience, particularly with customizing WordPress themes, templates, or plugins.

This is a mentored role. You'll receive technical guidance, feedback, and support from the Web Production Team while gaining hands-on experience working on a live, production WordPress website. We welcome developers who are still growing their WordPress and frontend skills and are eager to learn through real-world projects.

Minimum commitment: 5–10 hours per week, 6 months+.
