Mentor (virtual, only 2x/month!) with College Now Greater Cleveland!

Basic volunteer duties involved with this assignment:

• Connect with student via online platform/email at least two times per month. College Now provides curriculum prompts to guide conversations, but these are optional. Volunteer should be responsive to student questions and needs as they arise.
• Undergo a basic screening and training process with College Now, including: a 30-minute telephone interview with staff, a 30-minute video training and assessment, and a background check.
• Work with assigned student for the duration of their college / postsecondary path. For most students, this will be four years.

Basic volunteer qualifications involved with this assignment:

Volunteers must hold a two- or four-year college degree, and complete College Now's training and screening before being matched.

Who will be served by this assignment?

College scholarship recipients being awarded scholarship dollars through College Now Greater Cleveland or through our partner, Say Yes Cleveland.

What is the anticipated benefit of this volunteer service to those receiving the service?

Students in our mentoring program graduate at nearly twice the national average of their peer group nationally.

What specific skills will the volunteer need?

Volunteers must be comfortable working with youth (ages 17-24), and must have reliable access to the Internet. Volunteers must also be willing to use our online platform and email to communicate with their student (training provided).
