    Descripción

    MST Navigator

    MST Navigators work side-by-side with MST staff in promoting mobility for individuals with travel challenges because increased mobility means increased independence and quality of life.

    Navigators can be assigned to community centers, or outreach events to provide assistance in promoting MST services and mobility programs to the public. Also, Navigators can assist staff in travel training activities, where they may be assigned as a Travel Companion also known as a " Bus Buddy" to travel with individuals who completed the travel training program.

    Other tasks include:

    • Provide general information on paratransit services
    • Provide feedback on the MST services
    • Outreach activities at host center
    • Office duties (filing, phone calls, data entry, general assistance, etc.)
    • Other miscellaneous needs of the Mobility Management Program

    Volunteer Qualifications

    • Experienced traveling on the MST bus system
    • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Have the ability to follow program guidelines and supervisor instructions
    • Have good problem-solving and communication skills

    Minimum Requirements

    • The Navigator Volunteer Program is open to Monterey County residents ages 16 years and older
    • Available to volunteer between the hours of 7:00a.m - 5:00p.m ( Monday-Friday). Weekend hours may apply.
    • A minimum of 10 and not to exceed 35 hours per month commitment
    • Participate in monthly check-in meetings
    • Participate in 6-month update meeting.
    • Pass a criminal background security check
    • English proficiency
    • Bilingual skills appreciated, but not required.
