Skincare and touch are deeply grounding forms of care. For individuals receiving hospice services, gentle skin hydration, soothing facial massages, and comforting touch can offer immense physical relief, promote deep relaxation, and restore a sense of dignity and well-being during life’s final chapter.

We are seeking licensed Estheticians to join our hospice volunteer care team and bring gentle, professional skin nourishment and comfort to hospice patients in our community.

How Your Esthetics Expertise Makes a Difference

In end-of-life care, skin often becomes fragile, dry, or sensitive. As a volunteer Esthetician, your specialized knowledge allows you to deliver gentle, non-invasive comfort care tailored for delicate populations:

• Hydrating & Soothing Facials: Offer soft, non-exfoliating facial treatments, gentle cleansing, and deeply hydrating moisturization using fragrance-free, sensitive-skin products.
• Gentle Facial & Hand Massage: Provide light touch massage to ease facial tension, reduce restlessness, and promote quiet relaxation.
• Lip & Skin Barrier Care: Apply protective balms and soothing moisturizers to dry lips, hands, and arms to ease physical discomfort.
• Restorative Dignity & Comfort: Help patients feel pampered, refreshed, and truly cared for in a calm, soothing atmosphere.

Role & Responsibilities

• Perform 1-on-1 skin comfort sessions in patients' private homes, residential care facilities, or hospice inpatient units.
• Custom-tailor each visit to match the patient’s physical mobility, energy level, and skin sensitivity on any given day.
• Maintain strict sanitation, infection control, and product safety standards designed for fragile or bedbound individuals.
• Communicate visit observations and patient comfort responses to the Volunteer Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active state license as a Licensed Esthetician (or Cosmetologist with skin care specialization).
• Gentle & Adaptable Approach: Ability to work at a slow, unhurried pace and adapt treatments to bedbound or frail patients.
• Empathy & Grounded Presence: Emotional maturity, active listening skills, and comfort working in end-of-life environments.
• Clearances & Orientation:
  • Criminal background check & reference checks
  • Health screening and testing
  • Hospice volunteer orientation & training

Time Commitment

Flexible; typically 1 to 2 visits per month or 1–2 hours per week.
