Eugene Youth Cheer Seeks New Board Members!

Eugene Youth Cheer was founded in 2024 with the goal of educating, empowering and energizing local youth through the sport of cheerleading. We are an entirely volunteer-run organization and are looking for new board members to help lead us into the future.

The board typically meets once a month by Zoom (except in April, when we have a longer meeting to review the season and plan for the next one). Meetings are very focused and task oriented and are geared toward providing the best possible program for youth, planning upcoming activities and supporting our staff.

Board members are also expected to pitch in on various tasks to help keep the organization running. The busiest times of year are May (when we're promoting the new season), September (when the new season is starting) and at various points throughout the season (which runs from September through early March). Our goal with new board members is to spread out the duties so one person never ends up with an overwhelming amount of work.

We are looking for people with a passion for youth cheerleading, but no coaching or other cheer experience is necessary. We hope to find board members with some background in marketing, working with youth ages 8 to 14, nonprofit governance and/or finance. We ask that each board member make a two-year commitment.
