As a Volunteer Screener on the Volunteer Services team in Greater New York, you’ll help build the foundation of the American Red Cross—our volunteers. By connecting passionate individuals to meaningful opportunities, you’ll ensure every line of service has the skilled, diverse, and committed team it needs to deliver hope and help when it matters most. Your work fuels the mission and empowers communities to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role you will learn the ins and outs of every volunteer position at the Red Cross. You'll connect with interested new volunteers by phone, learn about their background and desired volunteer role, and refer them to the Red Cross volunteer opportunities that best match their skills, interests, and availability.

Weekday daytime availability is preferred for this role as screening calls must be made no earlier than 8am and no later than 8pm. We are seeking a 5 hour/week commitment; those hours can be spread across several days. Ideal candidates will be able to commit to two 3-hour shifts per week (Monday/Tuesday, Monday/Thursday, or Tuesday/Thursday).
