    About Us

Hill Family Biking is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for family cycling, active transportation, and street safety infrastructure in Washington, D.C. To date, we have hosted over 60 free community events, bringing together hundreds of residents for joyful, community-building rides and block parties. As we continue to grow and expand our programming, we are looking for a creative volunteer to help us inspire even more families to get rolling!

In this role, you will play a vital part in visually communicating our mission and driving community engagement across both print and digital channels.

Whether you're designing vibrant social media graphics for our monthly rides or layouts for community flyers and banners, you'll be building on a solid foundation of existing materials to draw inspiration from as our visual identity continues to evolve.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design digital promotional graphics optimized for social media, email newsletters, and our website (e.g., event flyers, Instagram posts, and registration banners).
    • Create print-ready collateral such as flyers, posters, and stickers for community distribution.
    • Help maintain and refine visual consistency across all branding and event assets, drawing from our established archive of past designs.
    • Collaborate with our organizing team to ensure deliverables meet event timelines and community engagement goals.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Proficiency in standard graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma).
    • An eye for clean, modern, and engaging design that resonates with diverse community audiences, families, and neighborhood advocates.
    • Strong communication skills and reliability.
    • A passion for street safety, active transportation, or community building in Washington, D.C. is a huge plus!

    What We Offer

    • The chance to make a tangible, visible impact on sustainable transportation and community life in Washington, D.C.
    • Creative freedom to help shape the next chapter of our organization's look and feel.
    • A collaborative, energetic team of fellow community advocates.
