Social Media Content Writer - Investigative Healthcare Docuseries

Help us tell the story beneath the surface of American healthcare.

Polaris, Inc. is looking for a Volunteer Social Media Content Writer to help us build the voice and audience aroundThe Iceberg, our six-episode investigative docu-series that goes inside American healthcare through the employers who fund it, providers who carry it, patients who navigate it, and institutions that shape it to explore why the system became what it is, how it’s affecting everyone involved, and what it could take to build something that puts people first.

This role is for someone who loves taking complicated ideas and turning them into content that feels clear, human, thought-provoking, and worth stopping for.

You’ll help create content for LinkedIn and Instagram speaking to the different people who experience and shape healthcare: employers, providers, patients, institutions, builders, funders, and supporters. Our goal isn’t simply to post more. We want to build an audience that trusts Polaris enough to follow the investigation, participate in the conversation, and eventually help build what comes next.

What you’ll help with:

• Write LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions, hooks, headlines, carousel copy, CTAs, and educational content.
• Turn healthcare research, statistics, interviews, production updates, and organizational milestones into compelling stories.
• Translate complex healthcare and systems topics into language everyday people can understand.
• Develop recurring content ideas and story angles.
• Adapt ideas for different stakeholders and platforms rather than simply copying the same post everywhere.
• Create content that encourages conversation, reflection, sharing, and participation.
• Collaborate with our graphic design volunteers to turn written ideas into strong visual content.
