Power Wheelchair soccer and BOCCIA Volunteers needed
Descripción
Descripción
Boston Self Help Center is looking for one time andmultiple time Volunteers primarily for its Power wheelchair soccer program and Boccia. Both occur on Saturdays. Looking for people to help with both activities each Saturday for soccer, noon to 3:30 PM and then BOCCIA from 3:30 PM to 5 PM, two Saturdays a month.
Responsibilities would include for soccer, bringing up our Sports wheelchairs from the basement of the Tobin community center to the gymnasium. Then you would be helping players get into these chairs and set them up. Once practice starts, you would help with practice either setting up soccer balls and definitely setting up the goal post and being part of the Volunteer team system.
For Boccia. which is the sitting version of bocce, Volunteers will set up ramps and retrieve the balls and occasionally play as a partner to a person with a disability.
We will also be expanding into remote control cars and board games if you are interested.
