    Descripción

    Health Matters Clinic (HMC) is seeking a Leadership Development Partner to help strengthen and grow our Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board. This role blends strategic leadership development with Parliamentarian responsibilities, ensuring that our governance is both visionary and professional.

    The Partner will support recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of diverse leaders while also serving as the Parliamentarian - maintaining fairness, order, and compliance in board and advisory meetings.

    Your role will include:

    • Supporting recruitment and onboarding of new Board and Advisory Board members.

    • Partnering with leadership to identify skill gaps and strategically expand the Board.

    • Coordinating board calendars, agendas, and follow-up action tracking.

    • Serving as Parliamentarian: ensuring meetings are conducted in accordance with bylaws and governance best practices, maintaining order, and advising on procedure.

    • Researching and sharing best practices in nonprofit governance and leadership development.

    • Assisting with board orientation, training, retreats, and annual self-assessments.

    • Facilitating strong engagement so Board and Advisory members are active and effective.

    Skills We’re Looking For

    • Extensive knowledge of Robert’s Rules of Order and nonprofit bylaws.
    • At least 10-15 years of experience with nonprofit board governance, commissions, or executive leadership.
    • Strong organizational, facilitation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and professional during meetings.
    • Experience in board recruitment, training, and engagement strategies.
    • Bonus: fundraising, sponsorship, or governance training expertise.

    Opportunities are hybrid, but all volunteers must be based in Los Angeles.
