Veterans Needed to Support Hospice Patients (Direct Care Volunteer)

You can make a difference in the lives of veterans receiving hospice care! Our veteran-to-veteran volunteers specifically support patients who are veterans and would like additional support. Volunteers may provide companionship to patients, call or visit on special days, assist with medal recovery, record a life story, or participate in pinning and recognition ceremonies. Along the way, we hope that you will also make a new friend!

There is no medical experience necessary as this position does not provide hands-on care - we are simply seeking kindness, reliability, and a desire to help! Volunteers typically service about 2 hours per week and choose the geographic locations they are willing to support. Patients may be seen in nursing homes, assisted livings, or their private residences.

AseraCare provides thorough training and screening for all volunteers to ensure they are well-prepared to service our hospice patients!
