Business Development Manager (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer)

About the Role

Join Empowered Futures as a Business Development Manager and play a key role in elevating EF's visibility, building strategic relationships, and strengthening community and sponsor engagement. You'll help expand our reach by developing outreach materials, identifying partnership opportunities, and driving external engagement to support our mission of empowering emerging adults as they transition into adulthood.

As a Business Development Manager, you'll identify new business opportunities, build strategic partnerships, conduct market research, generate leads, manage partner relationships, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand EF's presence and long-term impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities in target markets.
• Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue goals.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
• Generate leads through networking, industry events, referrals, and outreach campaigns.
• Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals, and commercial negotiations.
• Collaborate with marketing, product, and operations teams to align growth strategies.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements with clients and partners.
• Monitor industry developments and competitor activities.
• Represent the company at conferences, trade shows, and networking events.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Development, Business Management, Non-Profit Management, Organizational Management, or account management.
• Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Organizational Management, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
• Experience within the non-profit industry.
• MBA or advanced business qualification.
• Existing industry network and client relationships.
• Experience managing complex sales cycles and enterprise accounts.
