Community Events Coordinator

Making Dallas a No-Kill city is a big job and as a volunteer-based organization, we need a lot of great volunteers to do it. As an Adoption Events Coordinator, you'll support the assistant events director and development director in the Dallas Pets Alive events, to maximize opportunities for networking, donor relations, adoptable animals’ exposure, DPA Awareness, and fundraising.

Team: Events

Reports to: Community Engagement Manager

Works with: Correspondence with Community Engagement Manager on a regular basis. Close interaction with DPA volunteers. Ongoing interaction with the public, venue hosts, and DPA supporters.

Responsibilities:

• Sending request to foster families for confirmation of attendance for each adoption event
• Following up as required on questions and concerns raised by foster families concerning current and upcoming events
• Sending confirmation to leadership and adoption events team weekly of expected attendance at each event
• Regularly attending events to ensure consistency of process, adherence to DPA event policies, and to maintain relationship with event leads and volunteers
• Leading events on a periodic basis (after several events and training)
• Assisting with any other duties needed to help drive Dallas Pets Alive!’s mission

Qualifications/Skills:

• HS diploma/equivalent or higher degree of education required
• Must be proficient with use of email and have regular phone access
• Must not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfareMust not have conflicting associations with similar non-profit organizations or business(es) related to animal welfare

Dallas Pets Alive! Musts:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to maintain professional level correspondence at all times
• A motivational, can-do attitude to represent Dallas Pets Alive! in a positive manner to our supporters and the general public
• A problem-solving mindset to handle and diffuse challenging situations in a professional manner
• A love for animals and dedication to the cause of animal welfare
