Volunteer opportunities in the Mesquite area. Needing to be able to visit patients one day a week every week (as available), application, Orientation, training, TB test, background checks and drug screening. Once submitting your contact information to me, I will send an application, we can meet for coffee and then interview for about an hour. I like to cover what Hospice Plus is about, what we expect from volunteers and what your goals are for becoming a volunteer. We do need some Spanish/English speaking volunteers.

One patient appreciates someone to help with meal prep; however, I think if there was someone to show him how to order food for delivery or groceries for delivery, and teach him how to do it, that would be a great help. He is also lonely and wants someone to talk to, companionship, play Dominos, just be there to keep him company.
One patient resides in a facility and has nothing to look at, nothing on the walls, no outside decorations, it is actually pretty blank. Maybe someone who can talk to her, she loves to talk, someone to help her make pictures to hang up, or frame some photos, stickers on her window, huge window by bed, but nothing but trees outside.
several other patients have desires, but these 2 are the first priority because there has been so long in the assigning. Please reach out to me they are ready for someone asap.
Cómo participar como voluntario(a) en esta oportunidad
Visiting patient in home or facility, spending about an hour a week, completing paperwork after each visit, and returning those forms to the office (email or photo). Your TB will be at Care Now, Certiphi will contact you for drug screening and background check. You will do Orientation from the comfort of your home (testing involved) and in person with training for about another 1-2 hours once your Orientation and background are completed. Again, I will meet you for coffee and it will be informal.
