We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic intern to join our Relative Support Services team. This internship will provide you with valuable experience and the opportunity to work under the supervision of our clinical director (LMFT), learn various therapeutic techniques, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of our clients. You will play a crucial role in providing counseling and support to children and their families. Your responsibilities will include assessment, diagnosis, and the development and implementation of treatment plans to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and family-related issues.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct individual and family therapy sessions with children and adolescents.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other family members to create and implement treatment plans.
- Administer and interpret assessments to develop tailored therapeutic interventions.
- Assist in case management and maintaining accurate client records.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in child and family therapy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proof of enrollment in an accredited master's or doctoral program in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field, or proof of licensing to practice if looking to do pro bono work.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A genuine desire to help individuals improve their mental health.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to pass a background check.
