Location: Remote - Preference for UK-based applicants.

    Commitment: 2 - 4 hours/week through November 2025

    Compensation: Volunteer (unpaid)

    Start Date: ASAP

    The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Chevening Scholarship Mentor to guide a select group of our most advanced students as they prepare to apply for the UK’s prestigious Chevening Scholarship.

Several of our students have already completed their bachelor’s degrees and are now seeking support to apply for a fully funded master’s program in the UK through the Chevening scheme. They are bright, motivated, and determined, but they need help navigating the highly competitive application process.

    Your Role:

As the Chevening Scholarship Mentor, you will:

    1. Guide 5–10 shortlisted students through the Chevening application process
    2. Offer advice on choosing eligible UK universities and programs
    3. Provide feedback on personal statements and leadership essays
    4. Conduct mock interviews and help students articulate their goals
    5. Share insights on the qualities and criteria Chevening looks for
    6. Coordinate with our internal team to track student progress

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • Preferably based in the UK (to help interpret nuances of the application and university landscape)
    • Prior experience with Chevening, international scholarships, UK university admissions, or mentoring high-achieving students
    • Strong writing and editing skills
    • Culturally sensitive, patient, and supportive
    • Available to volunteer 2-4 hours/week through November 2025 (the end of our current semester)

    Why It Matters:

This is a life-changing opportunity for these young women. Many are applying from inside Afghanistan, where they face daily barriers to education, safety, and freedom. Helping them put forward a strong Chevening application is one tangible way to support a brighter, freer future — for them and their communities.

    Interested?

Send us a short message introducing yourself, your background, and why this opportunity resonates with you. We’ll be in touch to arrange a conversation if it feels like a good fit.
