Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteer opportunities may include:

• • Providing companionship and meaningful social interaction to hospice patients.
  • Offering emotional support through conversation, reading, music, games, or simply being present.
  • Providing respite by visiting with patients while family caregivers take a short break.
  • Assisting with administrative and office tasks, such as filing, organizing, assembling packets, or preparing mailings.
  • Participating in special events, community outreach, or fundraising activities as needed.
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and following all hospice policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• • Compassionate, dependable, and respectful of others.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Comfortable providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Must complete hospice volunteer orientation and training.
  • Must pass any required background checks, screenings, and comply with agency requirements.
