The Fédération Internationale de la Jeunesse, in English the International Youth Federation (IYF), is an international non-profit youth organization network governed by the present Statutes and the Swiss Civil Code. It is politically neutral, and non-denominational, aiming to empower youth worldwide.
The IYF is a global youth network, an organization advocating for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to empower young people across the world. IYF works in over 50 countries and territories, helping to achieve youth empowerment and improve the status of youth.
Under the overall direction and guidance of the IYF Regional Director, the Regional Programme Adviser supports the Regional Administration in programme planning and management to ensure high-quality programme design and implementation within the designated region.

To voluntarily represent, positively promote, and uphold the mission of “Empowering youth for a better world” in various programs and opportunities throughout the IYF interventions across member countries.
Responsibilities
(A) Proactively provides substantive advice to the Regional Administration on strategic programme planning and development, particularly as it relates to the region:
- Provide the Regional Director with advice on programming direction, priorities and options for the region based on deep knowledge of global, regional and national youth trends, priorities, challenges and emerging issues;
- Review project proposals from Country Teams and in the region as required, and submit reviews/comments;
- Provide proactive impactful support during all stages of the IYF strategic planning, formulation and implementation processes related to the region;
- Lead and/or participate in IYF strategic programme/policy discussion to provide advice and substantive input on programme issues relevant to the region; and
- Contribute significantly to the Regional Administration’s strategic discussion in establishing work plans and priorities.
(B) Providing appropriate programme and operational guidance for the Region and Country Teams on Programme design and implementation:
- Lead the provision of programme support to the Regional Administration during the formulation, approval and implementation of programming within the region to ensure the formulation of relevant, high quality, results-based regional and country programmes;
- Prepare high quality briefing materials for the Regional Director and Senior Management, including missions and participation in meetings and international events based on reports and materials submitted from Country Teams; and
- Develop recommendations for the IYF input in regional meetings and events on youth issues.
(C) Active engagement in following up on partnerships and resource mobilization on behalf of the region:
- In liaison with the Regional Partnerships Adviser, develop, build, and nurture strategic partnerships with Member States, NGOs, academia, media and private sector to advocate and to promote IYF mandate, initiatives and commitments to raise awareness and stimulate action to advance youth empowerment;
- Represent the IYF as delegated/appropriate in international community and to engage partners and other allies to encourage greater commitment and collaboration in advancing youth issues;
- Actively contribute to resource mobilization efforts in Regional Administration on behalf of the regional and Country Teams through liaison, networking, and relationship building with donors; and
- Support fundraising activities/events in the region.
Language
Advanced English skills are required for this role.
Location
Must be based remotely in an APAC country.
Experience
Progams/Programmes experience within an NGO, non-profit, INGO (such as the United Nations), government, charity, international development, or youth empowerment organisation is essential.
