Event Childcare Volunteers

Bridges to Housing Stability is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation, serving Howard County, MD. Bridges believes that housing is the key to a household’s stability. Whether resolving the issue of homelessness or preventing a household from becoming homeless, our goal goes beyond crisis intervention – our approach and mission focuses on long term housing stability for our target populations.

Two of our programs host learning seminars for clients, usually on financial literacy and tenant-landlord relations topics. Many of our clients are parents, and during the in-person seminars we like to offer childcare whenever we can. Childcare is on-site at the seminar location.

We are looking for volunteers who can be a friendly face for these families and supervise the children on Monday, August 10th 6-8 PM. Volunteer shifts can be as short as 1 hour but are ideally for the full event time (2 hours). There will always be at least 2 volunteers/staff members with the children at any given time.

We have all childcare volunteers complete an application and background check. Due to the cost of running background checks we ask that all childcare volunteers commit to doing at least 5 volunteer opportunities with Bridges in the next 10 months.
