    Descripción

The Camp Photographer plays a vital role in documenting the heart, joy, connection, and healing that take place throughout Camp Good Mourning!’s bereavement weekend. This individual is responsible for capturing meaningful moments while being mindful of the emotional nature of camp and respecting the privacy and dignity of campers, families, and volunteers.

All photography must reflect the mission and values of Camp Good Mourning! and honor the sensitive experiences of grieving children.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Capture Candid and Key Moments:
      • Take high-quality candid and posed photographs of campers, volunteers, and staff participating in activities, ceremonies, and group events.
      • Be present at all major camp activities and events (e.g., opening/closing ceremonies, memorial activities, mealtimes, talent show, waterfront, etc.).
    • Respect Privacy and Emotional Sensitivity:
      • Always prioritize the emotional well-being of campers; never photograph a child who is visibly upset, in distress, or in a vulnerable moment without explicit permission from camp leadership.
      • Be discreet and non-intrusive, especially during grief support activities or memorials.
    • Organize and Deliver Photos:
      • Label, sort, and organize images each day for easy sharing and archiving.
      • Provide a curated selection of photos to the Executive Director or Communications Team for use in social media, newsletters, thank-you slideshows, and fundraising materials.
      • Ensure photos are uploaded securely and labeled clearly post-camp.
    • Collaborate with Staff:
      • Communicate with the Program Director and Executive Director to ensure coverage of key moments.
      • Follow a schedule that aligns with the weekend program and check in for updates or changes.
    • Honor Consent and Permissions:
      • Adhere to CGM!’s photo release policies and do not publish or distribute any images without prior approval.
      • Confirm that all individuals photographed have signed photo consent (managed by CGM! admin staff).
    • Support the Camp Spirit:
      • Help highlight the energy, compassion, fun, and connection that define the CGM! camp experience.
      • Interact respectfully and kindly with campers and staff when taking photos to help everyone feel comfortable and celebrated.

    Ideal Qualities:

    • Skilled in event or candid photography

    • Discreet and observant, able to capture moments without disrupting them
    • Organized and detail-oriented in managing and delivering digital files
    • Comfortable around children and teens
