Volunteer Architect at the Ecolibrium Project - A Sustainable Adventure
How about turning your passion for architecture into something that truly changes Brazil and the world? Come live a unique experience in the heart of the Atlantic Forest!
About the Ecolibrium Project
Just imagine: you, working on one of the most incredible bioconstruction projects in Latin America! The Ecolibrium Project is located at the Eco Caminhos permaculture farm in Nova Friburgo, RJ, and it's a 1200 m² multifunctional space that will house a permaculture school, a restaurant, accommodations, and common areas. The project's design is a partnership between architects from various countries, under the supervision and collaboration of the Eco Caminhos team. Now you can be part of this incredible story, which is a benchmark for environmental projects!
What You Will Do
Create and design: Help our lead architect develop plans and technical drawings for bioconstruction, using super interesting techniques like cob walls and green roofs.
Work in a team: Collaborate side-by-side with masons, builders, and our international team of volunteers and apprentices.
Plan together: Participate in relaxed meetings to align designs with permaculture principles.
Get your hands dirty: Dedicate 32 hours a week to hands-on activities in construction, agroforestry, and other farm projects.
What We're Looking For in You
A background or experience in architecture, with a desire to explore bioconstruction and sustainable design.
Willingness and motivation to participate in hands-on construction work.
A collaborative spirit to work with builders and absorb traditional techniques in our welcoming rural environment.
Availability of at least four days a week for a minimum of 3 months (but if you can stay for a year, even better - you'll fall in love with the project!). This will be 2 days of hands-on work and 2 days helping with the drawings.
What We Offer You
Accommodation and meals: Basic accommodation in shared rooms and fresh organic meals from our farm.
A dream portfolio: A unique chance to develop a sustainable architecture portfolio, contributing to the regeneration of Brazilian fauna and flora.
Real learning: Practical training in bioconstruction and permaculture in an internationally recognized organization.
Atlantic Forest immersion: An experience in a tropical mountain climate, surrounded by peaks, waterfalls, and trails in the lush Atlantic Forest.
Ready to build the future of sustainability together? Come to the Ecolibrium Project and leave your mark on one of the largest bioconstruction spaces in Latin America, working with a crew that's passionate about environmental regeneration. Nature, the community, and the planet will thank you! 🌱✨
