Since 2008, we have helped thousands of children in the Philippines and Ukraine access critical medical care, therapy, nutrition, education, and basic necessities.

    Position Overview

Maya's Hope is seeking compassionate and detail-oriented volunteers to serve on our Philippines Basic Needs Review Committee.

Committee members conduct virtual interviews with families applying for assistance and help evaluate applications for children in need. This role plays an important part in ensuring that limited resources are distributed fairly and responsibly.

Volunteers will meet directly with applicants via video call, review supporting documentation, and provide recommendations to the committee regarding potential assistance.

    • Conduct virtual interviews with applicants in the Philippines
    • Review application materials, photos, and supporting documents
    • Assess family needs and verify information provided
    • Complete brief interview summaries and recommendations
    • Participate in occasional committee discussions regarding applications
    • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
    • Represent Maya's Hope with kindness, empathy, and respect

    Qualifications

    • Must reside in the United States
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Compassionate and non-judgmental approach when speaking with families
    • Comfortable conducting interviews via Zoom or similar platforms
    • Reliable and responsive
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Previous experience in social work, healthcare, education, nonprofit work, interviewing, counseling, or case management is helpful but not required

    What You'll Gain

    • Direct involvement in helping vulnerable children and families

    • Exposure to nonprofit program evaluation and case review processes
    • Opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team committed to improving children's lives
