Grant Wishes, Change Lives! Make-A-Wish Wisconsin needs Wish Granters in Dodge Co, WI!

The Make-A-Wish Wisconsin mission is 'together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses'. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we have evolved to be one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and more than 30,000 volunteers, Make-A-Wish grants more than 15 wishes each day throughout the U.S. and its territories.

A Wish Granter will meet with the Wish Child and their family to help determine the child’s most heartfelt wish ideas while planning special Wish Boosts along their Wish Journey. Wish Granters work in teams of two alongside Make-A-Wish staff to ensure every eligible child’s wish comes true.

• All Make-A-Wish Wisconsin volunteers must reside or work in the state of Wisconsin, even if they plan to volunteer virtually.

How to Become a Wish Granter:

1. Complete an onlines New Volunteer and Wish Granter Training.

We will send you more information about our Orientation and Training.

2. Complete an application, submit three reference questionnaires, complete a phone interview, and sign our Conflict of Interest & Ethics Statement.

You will receive these materials after your orientation. Make-A-Wish policy requires that all paperwork is completed and returned to the Make-A-Wish office within 90 days.

3. Complete a background check.

Background checks are required for all volunteers; a possible criminal background will affect your ability to volunteer with Make-A-Wish Wisconsin.

4. Start Granting Wishes!

We will assign you your first wish to get the ball rolling, and you will be paired with a Mentor Wish Granter to help you as well. After your first wish, you will be able to sign up for wishes online, and we ask that you sign up for at least 2 wishes every year to maintain your status as a Wish Granter.
