Russian-Speaking Friendly Visitor - Be a companion to a local senior!

Program Summary: Friendly visiting allows residents to be matched with a volunteer for conversation, shared experience, and companionship. The volunteer and resident will meet on a regular basis. Common activities include conversations over tea or coffee, going for walks, watching a film or show together, playing a game, etc. This specific resident is looking for someone to practice her English with.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule visit with resident each week and follow through with commitment
• Engage the resident in conversation that prioritizes the resident’s interest
• Update 2Life staff if there are any concerns

Impact Goal:

• The volunteer will help a resident who is in need of support.

Qualifications:

• Bilingual in Russian required
• Volunteer must be 18 years and older for this position
• Friendly and welcoming attitude
• Reliability
• Ability to keep a conversation going

Schedule/Time Commitment: An hour or two per week, depending on resident availability, ongoing, volunteer must commit to at least three months
