Descripción
Do you want to use your skills to help survivors of abuse and exploitation? We need you!
The Anti-Domestic Violence Training Team is responsible for building the training and awareness content that Operation Safe Escape puts into the hands of the people who need it most: shelters and safe houses, social workers and advocacy organizations, schools, public safety personnel, survivors, and the allies who support them. Good information, delivered clearly and at the right moment, changes outcomes. That is what this team makes.
Multiple roles are available, and we are looking for people at a range of skill levels and time commitments. You do not need to be an expert in domestic violence to contribute. You need to be good at what you do and willing to learn how it applies here.
ROLES AVAILABLE
Content and Course Development: Research, outline, and write training courses, guides, and awareness materials for a range of audiences.
Instructional Design: Structure learning objectives, sequence content, build assessments, and make sure training actually teaches.
Graphic Design: Create visuals, infographics, slide templates, one-pagers, and materials that are clear under stress and accessible to everyone.
Content Delivery: Produce and edit recordings, videos, explainers, and live or on-demand training sessions.
Research: Track current threats, tactics, tools, and best practices, and turn findings into material the rest of the team can build on.
Other Relevant Roles: Editing, accessibility review, translation, subject matter expertise, project coordination, and more. If you think your skills fit, tell us.
WHAT THE ROLE LOOKS LIKE
Develops training and awareness content tailored to specific audiences, from frontline shelter staff to survivors with no technical background.
Translates complex safety, security, and privacy concepts into plain language that people can act on.
Collaborates with subject matter experts, advocates, and other volunteers to keep material accurate and current.
Reviews and updates existing content as threats, tools, and platforms change.
Maintains a trauma-informed, survivor-centered voice across every piece of material.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Experience in training, education, instructional design, technical writing, design, video production, research, or a related field.
Ability to write and communicate clearly for non-technical, high-stress audiences.
Comfort collaborating remotely and taking a piece of work from draft to finished product.
Attention to accuracy, accessibility, and detail.
Familiarity with the tools of your craft (authoring platforms, design software, editing suites, or equivalent).
Familiarity with domestic violence advocacy, trauma-informed practice, or the challenges faced by survivors of abuse, stalking, and trafficking is a plus.
DATA PROTECTION AND CLIENT PROTECTION
Volunteers handle confidential data and must protect survivor information at all times.
Case details, survivor stories, and any sensitive material used in training must be handled with the strictest confidence and protected in accordance with Operation Safe Escape procedures.
Each volunteer must pass a double background check due to the sensitive nature of the work.
Operation Safe Escape is a non-discriminatory organization that protects survivors regardless of gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, immigration status, or any other characteristic.
