Descripción
Title: Administrative Volunteer
Supervisor: Administrative Specialist & Senior Nutrition Programs Manager
Key Responsibilities & Work Environment:
- The Administrative Volunteer will be responsible for receiving congregate meal reservations 1 time each week for 2-3 hours, between 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM.
- Connect clients with other programs or staff members via telephone, as needed.
- Contact clients of the Home Delivered Meals program to gather yearly assessment information via telephone and complete the assessment form for clients.
- Communicate with clients about their reservations or changes in their meal deliveries, as needed.
- Welcome any guests that come to the building’s front door, as needed.
Initial Impact:
- Meets the needs of time sensitive client requests or needs within both the Congregate and Home Delivered Meals program via telephone. Supports the Administrative Specialist with communicating to clients about their meals.
Sustained Outcome:
- Timely discussions with clients about their reservations will allow older adults to continue to receive meals in the Congregate Program.
- Create a sense of community connection and support for those who may not have many social resources.
Training & Support:
- In office training provided by Administrative Specialist
- On-going support available via Nutrition programs team
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must be able to get to the office on their own
- Some computer skills required, ability to check voice mail, call clients, use excel, and complete assessment forms
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to relay information to clients
- Ability to pass the background screening
- Communicate effectively with Nutrition programs team
Time Commitment:
- Four to six hours per week, preferably Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Time blocks will be in the morning, between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM. Start and end time can vary as needed.
