Position Summary
The Shelter Manager is the operational heart of LASH Haven. You will oversee the day-to-day running of our 100-bed congregate emergency shelter, supervise all direct service staff, ensure program compliance with Clark County Social Services requirements, and maintain a safe, dignified, and trauma-informed environment for every client we serve. This is a leadership role for someone who is organized, compassionate, and committed to ending homelessness in Southern Nevada.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shelter operations including client flow, bed assignments, and facility management
- Supervise and support all direct service staff including overnight staff, day staff, and security
- Ensure 24/7 staffing coverage and manage staff scheduling across all shifts
- Maintain compliance with Clark County Social Services contract requirements and reporting deadlines
- Coordinate with Case Managers and Intake Coordinator on client service delivery
- Respond to and document all incidents, grievances, and safety concerns
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance check-ins, and training sessions
- Liaise with the Executive Director on program updates, budget utilization, and outcomes
- Ensure facility cleanliness, safety standards, and ADA compliance are maintained at all times
- Participate in monthly billing cycle and Request for Reimbursement (RFR) documentation support
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in shelter operations, nonprofit management, or social services program leadership
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and low-barrier shelter models
- Experience supervising direct service staff in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with HMIS data systems preferred
- Valid Nevada driver's license and reliable transportation
- CPR/First Aid certification required within 30 days of hire
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
