Cleaning Week Volunteer: Help Us Get the Science Factory Sparkling!

The Lancaster Science Factory is getting a little extra TLC, and we need some helping hands!

During Cleaning Week, volunteers will work alongside our staff on deeper cleaning, organizing, and tidying projects throughout the Science Factory. This is a great opportunity to see a different side of the museum, work behind the scenes, and help make our space welcoming, safe, and ready for our visitors.

What might you do?

• Deep-clean exhibit areas and hands-on components
• Wipe down, dust, and organize museum spaces
• Tackle those hard-to-reach or easy-to-overlook areas
• Help organize supplies and shared spaces
• Work with staff on other cleaning and organizing projects as needed

Who we're looking for

You don't need special experience or science expertise. We’re looking for people who are dependable, willing to pitch in, and don't mind getting a little dirty!

This opportunity is a great fit for individuals, families, students, community groups, and anyone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves and seeing the immediate results of their work.

You’ll help keep a hands-on science museum clean, welcoming, and ready for the thousands of children and families who visit us each year. You'll also get a behind-the-scenes look at the Science Factory and the chance to work alongside our staff and fellow volunteers.

Time Commitment

Volunteers can sign up for individual shifts during Cleaning Week. Even a few hours makes a difference!
