Mt. Tamalpais Trail Stewardship Day With Marin Water

Help us improve the Alex Forman Trail! At this event volunteers will have the opportunity to help repair a section of the trail that has been eroded by filling it in with rocks and dirt as well as cut-back over-grown vegetation along the trail. By completing these two tasks we will contribute to making Alex Forman Trail more accessible and safe, especially when the rainy season hits.

We are asking participants to arrive at Lake Lagunitas Parking Lot (link to map) at 8:45 am for breakfast snacks and sign-in. We will start the day with a safety talk & project overview in the parking lot, then hike to the project sites. Be prepared to hike and do strenuous activity. Participants will need to provide their own lunches and must wear long pants and good shoes to hike in. The event will conclude at 2 p.m.

RSVP IS REQUIRED! All first-time volunteers must also sign our Volunteer Service Agreement, and all volunteers under 18 must have the form signed by a parent or guardian. All experience levels are welcome! That includes those with no experience with trail work to professionals. We will provide tools, gloves, water but please make sure to bring your own water bottle and a backpack to carry your lunch in! In the case that a Red flag closure is issued (indicating high fire danger) participants will be notified over email that the event is cancelled.

This is the second event in our series of trail stewardship days that will be held the first Saturday of every month until December. See our volunteer events calendar to register for upcoming events (details will be added about a month before each event).
