For those in hospice care, improving quality of life is an important goal. Much like music, art can bring joy to hospice patients and improve their mental and physical health. Research continues to support that art in hospice and palliative care is a vital aspect that enhances the quality of life for patients facing terminal illnesses. It provides a non-verbal outlet for emotional expression, facilitates communication, and offers symptom management. Art classes are tailored to individual, or group needs and can include drawing, painting, creating collages, or other artistic endeavors.
ECHO Hospice is excited to serve our partner agencies through the creative arts in both group sessions as well as at the bedside of patients, serving as an instructor and companion. Creating “spaces” to inspire inner creativity, outward expression and social connection with those gathering among them.
If you like to dabble in the arts, join our Art Companionship program.
