VITAS Healthcare is looking for volunteers who can share their time with hospice patients residing in nursing homes and their own homes. Volunteers are critically important for visiting patients at the end of life that do not have family or friends that regularly visit. Patient Care Volunteers offer companionship, play music and games, read to patients, and help in other meaningful ways.
Volunteers visit VITAS patients to provide specific, non- medical care through socialization and friendly visits. VITAS Healthcare provides comprehensive training and orientation for hospice volunteering on communication skills, family dynamics and how to make a positive difference for patients and their caregivers. The days and times for volunteering are flexible according to your availability. Any time you can contribute is appreciated.
