Volunteers must be high school graduates or the equivalent, 18 or older, and have the ability to access the internet for training and communication purposes.
Descripción
LiteracyCNY is looking for volunteers who want to tutor small groups of adult low-level English language learners, at the direction of a classroom teacher.
Interested volunteers follow a course outline to complete online training modules at home, meeting with LiteracyCNY staff at regular intervals to check-in. Upon completion, the volunteer assignment is made.
- Volunteer tutors must have computer skills in order to complete training and receive communications from LiteracyCNY.
- This volunteer opportunity is in partnership with Syracuse City School District, and will take place at one of their adult education locations.
- Volunteer tutors must be able to participate at least once a week, at a consistent time.
- Volunteer tutors agree to report monthly questionnaire regarding their tutoring activity.
