Tutor Adults in Low-Level English Language Learner Classroom

LiteracyCNY is looking for volunteers who want to tutor small groups of adult low-level English language learners, at the direction of a classroom teacher.

Interested volunteers follow a course outline to complete online training modules at home, meeting with LiteracyCNY staff at regular intervals to check-in. Upon completion, the volunteer assignment is made.

    • Volunteer tutors must have computer skills in order to complete training and receive communications from LiteracyCNY.
    • This volunteer opportunity is in partnership with Syracuse City School District, and will take place at one of their adult education locations.
    • Volunteer tutors must be able to participate at least once a week, at a consistent time.
