Global Mentors Wanted (1 Hour a Week, Remote)

We are currently seeking dedicated, emotionally intelligent, and inspirational individuals from around the world to serve as mentors for our upcoming semester, starting within the next two weeks.

This is not a traditional mentorship program. It’s a Pathway Program designed to help young Afghan women build the academic and professional skills they need to move forward, despite the severe restrictions placed on them inside Afghanistan.

Our students have already completed six levels of English and are now in one of four mentorship semesters. Each mentee is on her own unique path, whether aiming for:

1. Online university degrees (for those unable to leave Afghanistan),
2. Scholarships abroad (to study in Europe or the US), or
3. Remote work or internships (especially for qualified professionals banned from working inside Afghanistan).

Our goal is to match every student with a committed, thoughtful mentor who will treat her like a personal project, offering guidance, wisdom, and consistent support over time.

About the Mentoring Role

• Commitment: 1 hour per week (more if you wish)
• Duration: 20 weeks
• Location: Fully remote
• Pay: Unpaid (volunteer position)
• Scheduling: You will arrange mentoring sessions directly with your mentee(s) at a time that suits you both.
• Structure: We provide flexible guidance and support, but there is no fixed curriculum.
• Mentees: You will be paired with 6 -9 students (depending on availability), typically aged 20–24, all fluent in English.

Who We’re Looking For

You don’t need formal mentoring experience, we are looking for people with life perspective, professional grounding, and emotional intelligence.

Essential criteria:

• University graduate with at least a bachelor’s degree
• Professional experience - 10+ years ideal.
• Strong emotional intelligence
• The ability to guide, inspire, and challenge thoughtfully
• Reliable internet connection
• A commitment to consistency and follow-through

Why It Matters

This is a chance to make a tangible, life-changing difference. The girls and women in our program are courageous, determined, and hungry to learn, but they need access to role models and real guidance. As a mentor, you’ll help unlock their next step forward.

We are onboarding mentors now, with pairings beginning in the next two weeks. Our ultimate aim is to move from our current mentor-to-student ratio of 1:8 to 1:1, ensuring each young woman gets the individualised support she deserves.
