Member Engagement Volunteer
Overview / Purpose
The Member Engagement Volunteer supports staff by interacting directly with members during activities and providing companionship throughout the day.
Impact
This role helps increase social engagement and improves the emotional well-being of members living with dementia.
Time Commitment
- 2–4 hour volunteer shifts
- Weekly or scheduled availability
Specific Tasks
- Sit and engage in conversation with members
- Assist with art activities such as watercolor painting, puzzles, cards, games, and worksheets
- Help distribute and collect activity materials
- Encourage members to participate in group activities
- Provide friendly companionship
Qualifications
- Patient, compassionate, and friendly personality
- Comfortable interacting with seniors
- Interest in healthcare, social work, psychology, or recreation (helpful but not required)
