Lead an Arts & Crafts session at The Valiance Shelter!

The Valiance Women’s Shelter in South Minneapolis provides 24-7 long-stay shelter beds for up to 54 guests. Our guests have a safe place to eat, sleep, relax, and work with Agate staff to overcome barriers to housing. Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Spend time with shelter residents while facilitating creative activities that promote wellness, self-expression, and community.

Qualifications

• Minimum Age: 18
• Successful background check
• Can provide own materials for activities
• No experience or background in social services required--just bring your enthusiasm and creativity!

Lead groups of 8-10 shelter residents in creative activities such as:

• Painting
• Drawing
• Coloring
• Journaling
• Scrapbooking
• Seasonal crafts

You'll help create opportunities for wellness, self-expression, and community connection through art. Together, we'll foster a welcoming environment where participants can be creative, connect with others, and enjoy a positive experience.

Shelter staff will be present throughout the event to support both residents and volunteers.
