    Volunteer Development & Fundraising Coordinator

Boise Civic Trust is a new nonprofit civic organization focused on turning overlooked or stuck community conditions into clear, fundable public-interest projects. Our work includes Table Rock stewardship, the Boise Civic Path, and a growing pipeline of civic opportunities across Boise.

We are looking for a Volunteer Development & Fundraising Coordinator to help move our existing fundraising pipeline forward. Boise Civic Trust has already built much of the early groundwork: prospect lists, grant research, donor materials, project language, and early funder relationships. The need now is someone who can help turn that groundwork into consistent outreach, applications, relationships, and support.

Responsibilities may include researching and prioritizing foundation, corporate, and individual donor prospects; preparing and submitting grant applications; reaching out to foundations and family funds; helping develop local business sponsorship opportunities; supporting individual and family donor outreach; drafting prospect-specific emails, letters, and funding requests; tracking outreach and follow-up; helping prepare for donor and funder meetings; and maintaining a consistent development rhythm so promising opportunities keep moving.

This is a hands-on role, not primarily an advisory position. We are especially interested in someone who enjoys both the relationship side of fundraising and the organizational work required behind it.

A strong candidate may have experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, grant writing, donor relations, major gifts, corporate sponsorships, or nonprofit leadership. Former development directors or coordinators, retired or semi-retired nonprofit professionals, experienced board members, and fundraising consultants who want to contribute their skills in a volunteer capacity could all be strong fits.

The most important qualities are good judgment, strong writing and communication skills, follow-through, comfort reaching out to prospective supporters, and an ability to keep multiple funding opportunities organized.

The role is expected to require approximately 3–5 hours per week to start, with flexibility based on the volunteer’s availability and experience. The goal is not to pursue everything at once, but to create consistent weekly movement on a manageable group of strong prospects and funding opportunities.

This is currently a volunteer role. Boise Civic Trust is actively building its operating and project funding base, and the organization is at an early stage where the right person can have a meaningful role in shaping how its development system grows.
