The National STEM Society designs, develops, and delivers the most delightful, entertaining educational experiences imaginable. Our Administration teams support our national projects by providing the resources, tools, and information needed to create extraordinary SPARK STEM experiences. We believe in educating, initiating, and innovating young lives today for tomorrow's social response to increasing statistics for girls and women in STEM careers and fields.
Safety first, people inclusivity, innovation, and creativity are core values of our nonprofit organization, and these core values exist in everything we do.
Date: November 23rd, 7:00 am (setup) - 5:30 pm (breakdown)
This is a special opportunity in this current school year, hosted as a family-friendly event that provides needed benefits, clothes, food, and fun educational resources to families and children in need in Atlanta.
Volunteers will support the National STEM Society STEM fun and play sessions that will teach students about the educational benefits of the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers and fields through tech maker, food science, or robotics racing activity play.
An annual background screening is required for all volunteers. All school boards require a separate volunteer application and background screening for on-campus event participation.
We value the volunteers, students, parents, schools, and communities we serve. All confirmed volunteers during the selection process are required to complete a child sexual abuse awareness training, reference checks (for specific volunteer roles), and background checks for onsite, in-person events and program volunteer opportunities. All volunteers over the age of 17 must contribute a $20 donation toward the $35 annual background processing fee through the National Council for Safety Initiative (NCSI) organization. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining balance.
All confirmed volunteers are required to complete a child sexual abuse awareness training.
Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer.
Volunteer candidates will be accepted on an event or program needs basis that matches the candidate's interest and have completed the required NCSI background screening process. Incomplete volunteer applications or background screening acceptance will not be considered for review or volunteer placement.
If there is a suitable volunteer opportunity, you will be contacted by an Activities Coordinator. All volunteer applications will be kept on file for one year in our Volunteer Database.
Benefits of volunteering with us: (We appreciate you!)
We look forward to your volunteer role and working with each of you.
Thank you,
