Special Olympics Florida is excited to be hosting the State Swimming Championships in Sebastian, Florida on September 27th & 28th.
Hundreds of athletes from across the state will be competing and we need your help to make it a success! Special Olympics Florida relies almost exclusively on volunteers and cannot do what we do without you.
Venue: North County Aquatics Center
Volunteers will assist with the following tasks:
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of the venue.
- Check in athletes for the competition and escort them to their lane assignments.
- Serve as timers for the competition.
- Distribute results between the pool, competition HQ and awards locations.
- Assist with preparing and presenting awards.
- Assist with Opening Ceremony & Dinner

- Competition Announcer: Use a provided script to announce athletes as at the beginning of their race as well as general announcements. Volunteers should have a public speaking or acting background and be comfortable using a microphone.
No knowledge of the sport is required and all training will be provided on-site. Volunteers should be at least 11 years old and all volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by a registered parent/guardian for the duration of the volunteer shift.
All volunteers will receive a volunteer T-shirt as well as lunch during their shift. A record of community service hours can be provided if requested.

- Assist with Event Set-Up *Lifting Required*: Friday September 26, 2025 - 10:30 to 14:00 EST
- Assist with Timing, Staging & Awards: Saturday September 27, 2025 - 07:00 to 12:00 EST
- Assist with Healthy Athletes: Saturday September 27, 2025 - 08:00 to 16:00 EST
- Assist with Timing, Staging & Awards: Saturday September 27, 2025 - 11:30 to 16:30 EST
- Assist with Opening Ceremony & Dinner: Saturday September 27, 2025 - 17:00 to 20:00 EST
- Assist with Timing, Staging & Awards: Sunday September 28, 2025 - 08:30 to 14:00 EST
- Assist with Lunch and Breakdown *Lifting Required*: Sunday September 28, 2025 - 10:30 to 15:00 EST
