Director, Membership
Description
NAAAP New York is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), all-volunteer, AAPI professional organization that promotes the career advancement and leadership development of Asian American professionals in all fields through professional development, community service, and social events. We are the founding chapter of the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), with a history dating back to 1982.
About the role:
The Director of Membership is responsible for managing Membership Operations as well as Member Experience. He or she would conduct and implement strategies as approved, chair Membership Committee meetings, staff and delegate Membership Committee responsibilities where applicable. While overseeing the Membership Committee. The Director of Membership coordinates with other NAAAP New York committees to leverage opportunities to build and maximize membership acquisition opportunities.
As Vice President of Membership, you will:
- Work with Corporate Relations, Community Partnerships and Brand Strategy to brainstorm and execute strategies on increasing member base
- Work with Programming and other relevant committees to organize member-only events and improve member engagement / satisfaction
- Oversee and manage online membership operations on SilkStart (NAAAP New York website), including processing new applications, renewals and collection of membership fees)
- Activate membership benefits for corporate sponsorship programs
- Interview, place, and onboard new strategic members (with partnership of President, EVP, and respective VPs)
- Offboard exiting members
- Manage membership inquiries and communications (member services)
- Coordinate volunteer opportunities for interested NAAAP members
- Update Leadership Team on membership status and KPI
- Manage and oversee membership programs and service delivery
- Report directly to President and EVP.

Qualifications

- Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment.
- Previous nonprofit or board experience is a plus.
- Adept at working in a diverse and multicultural environment.
- Previous experience in a leadership or management role is a plus.
Time Commitment:
- Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 12 months, actively participating in the planning and execution of Engagement tasks.
