Volunteer Board Member (Physician)

DeDe Cares is seeking a passionate and community-minded physician to serve as a Volunteer Board Member. Our organization is committed to building self-sustaining communities and breaking the cycle of poverty by expanding access to health, education, and economic opportunity.

We are looking for a doctor who believes in community impact and wants to use their professional expertise to help guide our health-related initiatives, strengthen our mission, and support strategic growth. A physician with experience in pathology would be especially valuable as we continue exploring health screening, specimen collection, and community-based wellness efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic guidance as a member of the Board of Directors
• Offer medical insight related to community health and wellness initiatives
• Provide expertise that may inform screening, specimen-related, or diagnostic-focused programs
• Support the development of health-focused programs, partnerships, and outreach efforts
• Attend board meetings and participate in planning discussions
• Serve as an ambassador for DeDe Cares within the community

Preferred Qualifications:

• MD or DO required
• Background in pathology strongly preferred
• Passion for community service and improving access to care
• Interest in nonprofit leadership, health equity, preventive health, or diagnostic services
• Willingness to collaborate with board members, healthcare professionals, and community partners
• Prior board experience is a plus, but not required

Time Commitment:

This is a volunteer leadership role. Board members are expected to attend scheduled board meetings and provide occasional guidance and support throughout the year.
