Let's Feed NY is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building permanent food access infrastructure across New York City and Long Island. We partner with Island Harvest, City Harvest, and Amazon to run weekly food distributions serving hundreds of families.
We need 15 Distribution Volunteers to join our weekly operations. No experience required — just show up ready to work.
What you'll do: Help set up distribution sites before families arrive. Sort and organize food by category. Hand out food directly to families. Break down the site and clean up after each distribution. Assist with loading and unloading deliveries when needed.
Who you are: Dependable and willing to do physical work. Friendly and respectful when interacting with families. Able to lift 25-30 lbs. 16 or older. Located in NYC or Long Island with reliable transportation to sites.
Commitment: Weekly or as your schedule allows. Distribution days run 3-5 hours. Prep days run 1-2 hours.
What you get: Real hands-on nonprofit experience. Volunteer hours documentation and letter of recommendation. Training provided on-site. Be part of a team feeding hundreds of families every week.
