Friday, 9/25 - Create Habitat for Western Monarch Butterflies at Portage Creek Wildlife Area

Hello and thank you for your interest in my project! I am a WWU graduate working on establishing habitat sites for Monarch butterflies. We are weeding and planting at sites across western Washington.

I can provide transportation for up to 4 people. Please contact me with transportation details such as if:

• You are driving yourself
• Are willing to carpool
• Need a ride

What we will do:

• Weed a 11.5x11.5 area
• Plant 100 milkweed rhizomes per site
• Give the plants their first watering

I’ll be providing granola bars as a snack, I do ask that you please bring a reusable water bottle (I will have a water dispenser for refills). If you would like to bring your own lunch, please do and take breaks as needed.
