    Descripción

Climate Kills Initiative and Roots for Change are joining forces for a powerful one-month youth photography campaign designed to highlight the intersection of environmental hazards, community health, and social impact through your lens.

Visual storytelling is one of the most immediate, impactful ways to expose local disparities, capture resilience, and spark real policy action. Whether you are capturing urban heat islands, local green spaces, air pollution, or moments of community strength, your photos will serve as visual evidence in our ongoing advocacy and research efforts.

    🌍 Weekly Themes and deadlines

Each week we will have a different theme and your photographs must be submitted within that date and theme to be considered for volunteer hours:

    1. Week 1(August 15 - August 22) | Wildlife: Photography any wild animals you encounter, from birds and squirrels to insects or marine life. Use your caption to explain the animal's role in its ecosystem and why protecting wildlife is important.
    2. Week 2(August 23 - August 29) | Plants: Capture a photo of trees plants or small forested areas in your community. Describe how they benefit the environment(storing carbon, improving air quality, providing habitats, etc.)
    3. Week 3 (August 30 - September 5) | Water:Photograph a natural water source such as a river, lakes, pond, or oceans. Explain why clean water is essential for both humans and wildlife.
    4. Week 4 (September 6 - September 12) | Pollinators: Capture pollinators(bees, butterflies, birds, etc.) and explain their importance in preserving biodiversity.
