    Position Overview

    The Peace Curriculum Development Fellow will support the Peace Economy Project’s mission by designing educational materials that promote peacebuilding, demilitarization, and justice-oriented civic engagement. This fellow will help create toolkits, lesson plans, workshop guides, and interactive learning modules for use in high schools, colleges, community groups, and faith-based settings.

    This role is ideal for someone passionate about education, peace studies, and curriculum design—especially for audiences who are new to concepts like the peace economy, militarization, and social reinvestment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and pilot modular, age-appropriate peace education materials on topics such as:
      • What is a Peace Economy?
      • Military Spending vs. Social Spending
      • The Human Impact of War and Militarization
      • Youth Organizing & Civic Engagement for Peace
      • Feminist Perspectives on Peace and Justice
    • Design companion resources for educators and facilitators, including slide decks, discussion prompts, and activity guides.
    • Research and integrate best practices from existing peace education models, especially those with a social justice, anti-racist, and intersectional lens.
    • Collaborate with advocacy and narrative teams to align messaging and content.
    • Option to support live workshops, webinars, or school-based events as part of public education outreach.

    Qualifications

    • Current undergraduate, graduate student, or recent graduate in Education, Peace & Conflict Studies, Sociology, International Relations, or a related field.
    • Passion for community-based education, youth empowerment, and peacebuilding.
    • Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or facilitation preferred.
    • Strong writing, organizational, and research skills.
    • Creativity, cultural humility, and an ability to adapt educational content for diverse audiences.
