    Descripción

    Every day, Red Cross volunteers come together to support people in need, strengthen local communities, and provide hope during challenging times. Through a variety of meaningful roles, volunteers bring compassion, skills, and dedication to the mission.     Spotlight Volunteer Opportunities

    • Duty Officer (Remote): Help ensure timely responses by coordinating and monitoring local and regional Disaster Action Team activations.
    • Disaster Action Team (In-Person): Provide comfort, support, and immediate assistance to people impacted by disasters.
    • Warehouse & Kitting Assistant (In-Person): Help prepare and organize and subdivide large quantities into smaller packages, organizing totes, and packing boxes for shipment to blood drives or donor centers.
    • Blood Donor Ambassador (In-Person): Create a welcoming donor experience by greeting, guiding, and supporting donors as they help save lives.

    Additional Volunteer Opportunities Available:

    Disaster Cycle Services:

    • Disaster Health Services (License Required): Use your professional skills as a licensed healthcare provider to deliver support and health-education to people affected by disasters.
    • Disaster Mental Health (License Required): Use your professional skills as a licensed mental health provider to foster emotional well-being and resilience for people impacted by disasters. *Required: Licensed mental health professional, school psychologist, school counselor, or psychiatric nurse.
    • Disaster Spiritual Care (License Required): Provide spiritual and emotional support to individuals and volunteers affected by disasters. Required: Board-certified or endorsed chaplain, faith community leader, or disaster spiritual care provider affiliated with a National VOAD member organization and approved through Red Cross DSC screening.

    Operations:

    • Facilities Volunteer (In-Person): Support with behind-the-scenes tasks ensuring office maintenance, breaking down materials, check for possible leaks, etc.

    Volunteer Services:

    • Community Outreach Volunteer (In-Person): Represent the Red Cross at community events, share information about the mission and volunteer opportunities, engage with the public, and help create meaningful connections.
