Remote Volunteer Kitten Livestream Moderator

Description:

Kitkat Playroom is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit kitten rescue based in Woodbury, New Jersey. We specialize in neonatal kittens, orphaned kittens, and cats with complex medical and special needs.

We run 24/7 YouTube livestreams so people can watch the kittens in our care, follow their progress, learn about rescue, and connect with our community. We are looking for friendly, dependable volunteers to help moderate our livestream chats.

This is a fully remote volunteer position.

As a livestream moderator, you will:

• Watch our kitten livestreams during your scheduled shift
• Welcome viewers and participate in chat
• Answer questions about the kittens and Kitkat Playroom
• Share information and links when appropriate
• Help keep the chat friendly and safe
• Remove inappropriate comments when needed
• Help viewers feel connected to the rescue and the cats they are watching

No previous moderation experience is required. We provide training and guidance before volunteers begin moderating independently.

We ask for a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week. Volunteers must have access to a laptop or desktop computer. Because our livestreams run 24/7, we especially welcome volunteers with evening, overnight, early morning, or weekend availability.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys cats, online communities, livestreams, social media, or simply talking with people. You can help a kitten rescue without leaving home, while spending your volunteer time watching kittens and helping create a welcoming community around them.
