- Volunteers should arrive INSIDE THE EXHIBIT at the start of the shift. Please arrive at NorthPark Mall in enough time to allow at least 30 minutes for parking and walking to the exhibit as this is often problematic around the holidays.
- Dress code: No open toed shoes, no shorts, tank tops, short athletic skirt or shorts, or cropped shirts. Holiday attire encouraged. Volunteers wearing inappropriate attire may be asked to forego their shift.
- Please refrain from using your cell phone, reading, or completing other tasks such as homework or emails while volunteering. YOU are the face of RMHD during your shift, we want to provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere to the exhibit customers!
- All volunteers must be 15 years old or older to volunteer WITHOUT a parent and at least 12 years old to volunteer WITH a parent present.
- Please plan to stay the duration of your scheduled shift, even if the next shift’s volunteers arrive while you are still there. This allows time for the manager to train the incoming shift before you leave.
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your shift, its critical you email jfinan@rmhdallas.org as soon as possible to ensure there is adequate volunteer coverage for each shift.
Disclaimer: Individual volunteers or groups who consistently no-show or cancel last minute will not be allowed to volunteer for future shifts.
