Remote Volunteer Finance & Investments Committee Member

Help Believe in Me strengthen the financial stewardship that supports underserved youth and young people through scholarships, mentoring, education, and community partnerships.

As a volunteer member of the Finance and Investments Committee, you will advise the Board of Directors on financial oversight, internal controls, budgeting, audits, risk management, and prudent investment practices.

Responsibilities:

• Review financial statements, budgets, cash flow, investments, and organizational performance
• Help assess financial policies, internal controls, insurance, and risk-management practices
• Support annual audit and IRS Form 990 oversight
• Recommend the annual budget to the Board
• Translate financial information into clear, actionable guidance
• Contribute to occasional finance-related projects

Qualifications:

• At least five years of relevant finance, accounting, investment, audit, banking, or nonprofit financial-management experience
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements and budgets
• Sound judgment, discretion, and collaborative communication skills
• Commitment to ethical governance and expanding opportunities for underserved youth

This is a remote, recurring volunteer leadership role associated with Believe in Me’s Seattle, Washington office. Expect up to 10 hours per month, including regular committee meetings and occasional projects. Volunteers may participate from anywhere.
